þekkingheim is a chantry dedicated to learning and protection. Founded about a year ago by Stefan, it’s open to all mages and sorcerers in the San Diego area, so long as they’re willing to do two things: Help with the Chantry in some way, and to respect the other members whether they agree with them or not.

There are two main entrances. The first, and main one, is via a large home in La Jolla. More of a mansion or compound than a single-building home, the property is owned by Stefan personally and backs onto the Pacific Ocean. Like many of the homes in the area, the grounds are gated, and the property is well-hidden from prying eyes by the wall and vegetation.

The buildings on the grounds are done in classic Spanish/Mediterranean style, and most of the furniture inside is of either Mission or Shaker style, with plenty of space for both residents and guests. Stefan has made sure that any of the Chantry members that needs a place to live has one, either on the main grounds, or at the secondary property.

The library takes up most one-quarter of the first floor and looks out toward the ocean across the grounds. It serves as a communal meeting place with a small kitchen directly attached. Stefan’s personal office is attached to the Library, and has spiral staircase in one corner that leads up to his own quarters on the floor above.

There are all sorts of facilities on the grounds from tradition-specific sanctums to a firing range in the basement, a fairly well equipped gym, and of course a pool.

In a room that’s warded to only permit Chantry members access lies a Hermes Portal that leads to the other part of the Chantry’s facilities - the top four floors of a high-rise building in down town San Diego that’s par office space and part apartments for those who’re more comfortable with an urban location. The only access to those floors is through a secured elevator that scans for a pattern-mark placed on members by Stefan, and the Hermes Portal itself.

Both locations are heavily warded in ways that only Stefan knows the full extent of at this time.
